CoastalTropicals

Tammy is cultivating an wonderful variety of tropicals in Orlando, Florida.  I want them all!  But I especially want this delightful little Bletilla orchid.  I used to have a small bed of them living under my Cherries trees in a Zone 9b area.  They would come up every spring after going dormant for the winter, but I imagine that in areas where it doesn't freeze, they'd probably be green year round.  You can see more by visiting her Etsy Shop:  CoastalTropicals

SandPointLavender - Sustainably Farmed Lavender

Kris McPeek and her family are cultivating lavender in Sand Point, Idaho.  They have a variety of lavender products they create from the lavender they grow and you can purchase directly from them via their website:  SandPointLavender
Or you can contact them to find out where they will be selling in person, as you see in one of the photos below.
You can also follow them on Instagram! sandpointlavender/

The lavender here on the northern half of Earth is just beginning to wake up from the winter.  Although there are many varieties of lavenders which will bloom practically year round, only certain varieties can be used for the production of lavender items.  Other lavenders do not possess the same scent or properties as those derived from the species Lavendula augustifolia.

And if you love lavender, you know it is all about the scent and the wonderful properties of lavender oil!
